Tchia is a cool game where you can become a crab, or a dog

Cute island life sim Tchia lets you explore New Caledonia through the eyes of various animals.

In among all the big AAA blockbuster games at the PlayStation Showcase today was Tchia, the little game where you can pet (and become) a crab.

The indie game from developer Awaceb and publisher outfit Kowloon Nights is set in New Caledonia, an archipelago in the south-west Pacific Ocean.

As a result, the trailer is full of lovely island activities like playing a Ukulele, swimming on coral reefs, and using Tchia's Soul Jumping ability to take control of any animal or object you can find. Hashtag just island things!

It looks great, and you can sail around and the islands look very pretty and full of interesting little details for you to discover on some sort of legendary journey to save someone, or something, not sure yet. But definitely one to keep an eye on if you like relaxing indie adventures in cute open worlds and fully playable Ukuleles.

Tchia is coming to PS5 and PS4 (as well as the Epic Games Store and Steam on PC) sometime in 2022, we'll bring you more when we know more.
