People may smugly inform you that practice makes perfect, but what they don’t tell you is what kind of practice. Thankfully, when it comes to Fortnite, Lachlan is here to drop the knowledge. In this Crash Course video, the streaming star takes us through the best Fortnite Creative maps to train your building, shooting, and close-combat reactions.
Lachlan’s best Fortnite Creative maps
Lachlan’s Fortnite training system is all about repetition. But that doesn’t have to be boring! Rather than losing match after match when you’re not playing up to scratch, dive into these practice maps alone or with a friend to work yourself into shape.
First up is Raider464’s piece control practice. This will help you practice placing down and editing building segments as quickly as possible, allowing you to take control of the environment over your opponent. The more pieces you have around them, the more control you have over the action.

Next, we’re diving into practice with a friend, which is always more fun than grinding out the hours alone. We’ll be practicing a range of aiming scenarios, starting with gliding towards and away from gunfire, then testing flick shotgun shots in unusual or unexpected situations. These maps will automate alternate turns with you and your practice partner, or stick you in a challenging box arena where all that matters is quickly getting your shots on target to deal massive damage.

Finally, we’ve got realistic fight practice. These maps are designed to replicate actual encounters you’ll face during Fortnite matches. Only here, you’re just running drills with a buddy. Our map choice here will simulate you and someone else spotting one another at the exact same time. You’re both free to let loose with buildings and shots, so get to work testing those skills you’ve been practicing on the other maps!
