GTA Online's Los Santos Tuners update brings underground street racing to life today

Let 'em rep.

The latest update to GTA Online is the Los Santos Tuners, a wealth of new content dedicated to the street racers of the digital cityscape.

The biggest new feature is the LS Car Meet, a hidden hub for the tuners of the world. Head to the warehouse in Cypress Flats and you’ll be able to head in to show off your ride or admire everyone else’s.

For the tidy sum of $50,000, players can purchase LS Car Meet Membership, granting access to a new Reputation track which unlocks cosmetics for you and your car, as well as special trade prices and access to new modes with each tier. It’ll also get you access to the Test Track, a free space to “drive, drift, and race vehicles freely.” You’ll even be able to try out new cars from a rotating pool, letting you check out what else on the market might take your interest. Membership also grants access to rotating Prize Ride Challenges which offer the chance to win a prize car.

As an LS Car Meet member, you can take your car to get styled up at the tattoo, merch and modding shops within the community. Reach a high enough rank and you’ll even be able to organize a takeover to customize the lighting and banners within the LS Car Meet space.

To gain that reputation you’ll need to make use of the daily log in bonus, take part in (and ideally win) races, practice on the Test Track, and spend time in the Car Meet. In a move that’s sure to sit unhappily with players on older consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launch of GTA Online later this year will see some cars get upgrades exclusive to the next-gen versions of the game.

You didn’t put all that time into tuning up cars to just admire them, however. The Los Santos Tuners update for GTA Online also introduces new races with leaderboards in the Street Race and Pursuit Series. Street Races let you tear around tight tracks in different locales within Los Santos, while Pursuits are open, checkpoint led races that leave it up to you to find a path from one stage to the next. Oh, and they’ll also see the police nipping at your heels. Finally, drag race fans can take part in Sprints in Freemode which pits four drivers against one another in short, sharp races to see who’s car is most powerful.

New vehicles in the GTA Online Los Santos Tuners update include the Karin Calico GTF, Karin Futo GTX, Annis Euros, Vapid Dominator GTT, Annis ZR350, Dinka RT3000, Vulcar Warrener HKR, Obey Tailgater S, Dinka Jester RR, and Annis Remus.

The GTA Online Los Santos Tuners update arrives today on all platforms. The Rockstar Newswire page has further details on everything included in the update.
