You’ll get Character Points simply from playing, and if you’re incredible at golf, scoring hole in ones will obviously race you up the points. However, there’s also an easy way to grind for Character Points if you don’t want to wait. You’ll earn 10 points for every hold you play, but you don’t have to complete the hole, meaning repeatedly restarting will earn 10 points each time.

To farm Character Points, choose Play Golf from the main menu and set up a Stroke Play game where you take turns with four human characters (this way you only need one controller).

Select the characters you want to farm Character Points with, choose the Rookie Course and start the game. As soon as the course starts, pause and open the menu to select Restart from First Hole. You’ll gain 10 Character Points for all four characters each time you do this, meaning you can improve four at once by rapidly restarting.

It’s a boring way to farm Character Points in Mario Golf: Super Rush, but if you don’t want to wait around to get Star Clubs or Super Star Clubs, this is the quickest method by far. If you’re more patient, just play the game and you’ll get Character Points as you do.
