Resident Evil Village Finest Fish location

Ethan spends most of his time being hunted in Resident Evil Village, but occasionally you’ll be able to hunt some beasts of your own to obtain food like the Finest Fish. This is one of the rarest food types you’ll need to find in Resident Evil Village, and to find the Finest Fish you’ll need to take a detour on a boat trip. A clue is available much later in the game, but below we’ll explain exactly where to find the Finest Fish location in Resident Evil Village as early as possible.

Resident Evil Village Finest Fish location

You can find the Finest Fish location in Resident Evil Village as soon as you’ve grabbed the Crank in House Moreau’s section. After you beat Moreau and return to the Village, you need to travel back to the Lone Road which leads to the Ceremony Site (it’s past the spot you need to deposit the four flasks for the main story. You’ll reach a stone bridge on this path, which includes some stairs down to a raised wooden drawbridge.

Head down to the drawbridge and use the Crank to lower it.While you’re here, make sure you shoot the Goat statue in the room underneath the stone bridge behind you. Next, cross the bridge and you’ll find a boat on the water which you can climb in. Heading up river will lead you to the Riverbank Treasure House for the Necklace with two holes, but for the Finest Fish location in Resident Evil Village we need to head downriver in the boat. 

Drive the boat down the river and under the stone bridge until you reach the disembark point on your right, as shown on the map above. Climb out and you can grab some resources on your right before heading left to the pool of water. In here you’ll find three fish. Killing the red fish will reward you with the Finest Fish resource.

Once you’ve collected the Finest Fish resource, travel back to the Duke to cook up Sarmale de Peste which grants a permanent move speed increase.
