Rocket League Tournaments Mode begins PC testing next week

Competition starts early.

Psyonix has announced that Rocket League’s upcoming Tournament Mode will go into testing on PC next Wednesday (February 21).

The Tournament Mode has been highly anticipated, and allows players of all ranks to compete in online competitions from within the game client.

The test phase begins at 10am PST and runs until 5pm PST February 23. PC players can join in simple by right clicking on the game in their library, selecting Properties, clicking on the Beta tab and then choosing ‘Tournament Beta’ in the drop down menu. You can follow the instructions on the Rocket League website for more information.

The full Tournament Mode is planned to release on PC and consoles in spring (March - April) and was announced as part of the game’s 2018 spring roadmap. Psyonix has laid out their planned updates for the game this year, alternating between Feature and Content updates. A number of quality of life updates are planned for the year, including “Better Item Filtering, Searching, and Sorting,” and the ability to disable the one minute remaining message.

The Switch release will also be getting some loving in Spring, promising improvements to resolution and performance issues with new graphics options. These will let you choose between 60FPS with only 900p docked (720p handheld) and dynamic resolution scaling, or 30FPS at 1080p when docked and added visuals.
