It’ll unlock most of the paths required to obtain the different masks for the main puzzle, as well as opening up several extra puzzle options for treasure rewards. How to get the Iron Insignia Key in Resident Evil Village

You can get the Iron Insignia Key in Resident Evil Village after your first terrifying boss encounter with Lady Dimitrescu in the castle basement – the one in which you can’t fight back (for painful reasons) and need to run in circles while opening a gate. After this sequence you’ll grab the first mask and be raised into the castle Courtyard once more. 

As you now have Dimitrescu’s key, you can open the locked door on the north of the Courtyard which leads to the Opera Hall area. Don’t worry, Dimitrescu shouldn’t be able to catch you in here. Follow this area around, killing a few ghouls and collecting the flower and sword ball on the upper floor until you head downstairs to the main floor with the grand piano.

Head to the front of the grand piano and sit down. You’ll be presented with a sheet of music to play. Don’t panic, you don’t need to learn sheet music. Tap any of the keys and you’ll see the position you played flash up on the sheet. Adjust the key you select up and down until it overlaps with and matches the notes from left to right. It’s a pretty straightforward puzzle once you know what you’re doing.

Play the full sheet of music and Ethan will turn your painful key tapping into a beautiful song, completing the puzzle and opening a secret compartment on the Piano. Hidden within is the Iron Insignia Key location.

With the Iron Insignia Key you can gain access to a suite of new areas within Castle Dimitrescu, including the five bell puzzle room which leads to the Sniper Rifle location. Make sure you explore thoroughly to earn rewards, and avoid the terrifying lady of the house!
