PlayStation Plus continues to amp up the value in March by offering Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Maquette as free PS Plus games, according to a since-deleted early posting from the Dutch PlayStation Facebook – but with a catch.
The catch being that the FF7 Remake you can get for free will be the current PS4 release and ineligible for a free upgrade to the PS5 version once that arrives alongside the recently announced FF7 Remake Intergrade expansion.
To soothe those potential wounds, for those with a PS5 you also get Maquette, the recursive perspective-based puzzler from Graceful Decay and Annapurna Interactive, on its release day of March 2.
Maquette stars the voice talents of Bryce Dallas Howard and Seth Gabel as you go inside a dreamlike world to manipulate a scale model of the world you are in, while some sort of love story happens in the background. It looks very pretty and a release day freebie is a neat catch for PS5 PS Plus subscribers. Sadly PS4 owners will not receive Maquette, though you can make sure to add the PS5 version to your account through the app ready for when you finally manage to get your hands on a PS5.
The early posting of March's PS Plus games also lists Remnant: From The Ashes and PSVR shooter Farpoint, which of course will require a PSVR headset and camera. Remnant is a third-person shooter about saving Earth from an ancient evil from another dimension, and seems quite well received. Farpoint is a first-person VR shooter about escorting scientists on an alien world to a downed space station. Pick your poison.
Are you excited about getting FF7 Remake on PS4 and Maquette on PS5 for March's free PS Plus games? Or will you be engaging in some sort of shooter crusade against ancient evil/aliens in Remant: From The Ashes and Farpoint on PSVR?
