Lachlan joins the Fortnite Icons Series

You can unlock his skin during the upcoming Lachlan's Pickaxe Frenzy tournament.

Lachlan is the next person to be added to Fortnite’s real people Icons Series of skins.

The Australian YouTuber has over 13 million subscribers and remains one of the most famous Fortnite content creators on the platform. Early this year he also won the Australian Fortnite Pro Am tournament alongside professional player Fresh. He’ll be joining the Icons series of skins with an in-game recreation that’s due to arrive in the Item Shop on November 12. However, there’s also a chance to get hold of it early, and entirely for free.

As part of the arrival, a new event titled Lachlan’s Pickaxe Frenzy will kick off on November 8. This competition will offer the opportunity to unlock the Lachlan skin for free, and in advance of its Item Shop addition.

A special tournament, Lachlan’s Pickaxe Frenzy will see players equipped solely with pickaxes, scavenging the map for a limited supply of items such as Impulse and Decoy Grenades, Rusty Cans, and supply boxes. Resource stores are limited and there are no shields or healing available either. Instead you’ll need to kill enemies or perform emotes to heal.

If you want to take part and give unlocking the skin a shot, we recommend heading over to the full ruleset on the Epic Games website which breaks down the laws of the tournament.

Lachlan’s addition to the Icons Series sees him join creators Loserfruit and Ninja, as well as musicians Travis Scott (with Astro Jack), Marshmello, and Major Lazer. The Icons Series skin line is intended to recognize famous creators who’ve heavily involved themselves in the world of Fortnite. Lachlan’s skin has yet to be fully shown, but we know it’ll include an Outfit, Back Bling, Emote, and, fittingly, a pickaxe. There’s a proper reveal due on Lachlan’s YouTube channel at 7 PM EST on November 7, so head over there to see how it looks before your chance to unlock it.
