How to process ingredients in Genshin Impact

Learn how to process food and ingredients so you can get cooking in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is an open-world RPG that has taken several design cues from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, including the incorporation of a cooking system. But while the aesthetics may be similar, and you may still be walking up to a random pot in the wild to get cooking, don't be fooled. Learning to process food and master this cooking game is a different beast than what we're used to with Breath of the Wild. But don't worry, this guide is here to help demystify how to process ingredients so you can start making something delicious!

To process ingredients and food in Genshin Impact takes a bit of unusual menus work. Much like in the real world, you'll never just find a bag of flour ready to go in the wild of Genshin Impact, but you will need it and other processed ingredients for certain recipes. Can't make any cute confections with whole wheat stalks, now can you? Luckily, it's relatively simple to process ingredients into a useable form if you know where to navigate in the menus.

Once you enter the Cooking menu from a Cooking Pot, it'll automatically take you to the Recipe tab. But if you slide over one tab, you'll find Processing. From here, you can select whatever it is you need to make and get going, though you'll have to already have the required ingredients in your inventory. Then you'll have to wait. Depending on what you're making and how much of it, the processing time will take between a few seconds and about an hour.

With your processed ingredients in hand, you're ready to get in the kitchen and make something yummy for your gatcha squad! That's everything we know about how to process food and ingredients in Genshin Impact. For more Genshin Impact features and guides, click here to visit our game hub page.
