Among Us Hide and Seek settings

Learn how to play Hide and Seek in Among Us with our settings list for this spooky spinoff mode.

Getting stabbed by your friends in Among Us just not scary enough? Or are you just a terrible liar? Either way, you’ll want to try the new Hide and Seek mode the Among Us community has come up with. This fan-created game mode puts the imposter out in the open and allows players to talk freely. With drastically reduced sightlines, crewmates must run for their lives, aiming to complete as many tasks as they can before the killer finds them. Whoever completes the most tasks or survives the longest is the winner. Eager to give it a go? We’ve listed the Among Us Hide and Seek settings for you below.

There are a few different variants to the Among Us Hide and Seek settings. We’ve listed our preferred way to play below, but feel free to tweak the settings once you get going if you feel like vision range should be larger, the kill cooldown increased, or more tasks added to the mix. Make sure you know how to change the game settings before you begin:

  • Imposters: 1
  • Crewmate Vision: 1.5x
  • Imposter vision: 0.25x
  • Kill Cooldown: 10 seconds
  • Kill Distance: Short
  • Common Tasks: 0
  • Long Tasks: 0
  • Short Tasks: 4

Using this setup, you can either play until Crewmates complete tasks, or have everyone hide until there’s only one Crewmate left alive as the winner. Those are the core settings you’ll need to set, but there are also some key general rules you need to follow for Hide and Seek:

  • Imposter must sabotage lights and announce themself as soon as the round starts
  • Imposter gives Crewmates a five second head start to run away
  • You’re free to talk at any time
  • No reporting bodies
  • No fixing the lights
  • No emergency meetings
  • No sabotages (beyond the lights)

Once you’ve tried out the basic setup, why not try some of the entertaining modifiers such as boosting Crewmate vision to 5x so they can see and avoid the imposter from afar, provided they can keep the fear from their voice.

And those are all the settings you need to play Hide and Seek in Among Us! Have fun with this alternate mode, and if you’ve come up with your own rules to use then let us know what they are in the comments below!
