How to change settings in Among Us

Looking to change the game settings in Among Us? We'll break it down for you here.

Among Us is very flexible when it comes to game settings, letting you change everything from discussion times to imposter kill ranges. You’ll be able to tailor the setup to your group, but it doesn’t exactly make it clear how to change settings in Among Us easily. Thankfully, we can point you in the right direction.

To change settings in Among Us, you need to have a game loaded and be sitting in the lobby section (running around in a small hangar space) while you wait for everyone to join. From here, whoever is in charge of the lobby (the player who has the option to click Start and set the game running) needs to head over to the laptop which should be sitting on part of the lobby area.

Once you're near the laptop, click the Customize button in the bottom right of the screen while you’re close to the laptop and you’ll bring up a screen that lets you adjust your looks. Next click the Game tab on the top right of this box. You should now be able to change the game settings by scrolling through the list here and adjusting whichever option you like, or choosing to go with the game's recommended settings.

Again, it’s worth noting that only the player in charge of the lobby can adjust the game settings. This can only be done prior to the start of a game, so make sure you set everything the way you want it before clicking that start button

It’s as simple as that to change game settings in Among Us. We recommend upping the length of discussion times and reducing the vote time. But everything beyond that is pretty much up to the preferences of your team. For more Among Us tips, news and features, head over to our hub page for the game. Don’t worry, we’re not just luring you there to backstab you, promise.
