Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 - September 11, 2020

Xur's updated location and a list of all the Exotic wares he has available for purchase this week in Destiny 2.

In Destiny 2, every Friday is Xur Day if you’re into Exotics. If you’re new to Destiny 2 and are wondering who Xur is and what Xur does in Destiny 2, Xur is an Exotic goods vendor who appears at a random location every week starting on Friday.

By visiting Xur, you can purchase Exotic armor pieces for your Titan, Warlock, or Hunter, along with an Exotic weapon.

If you’re itching to buy Exotics from Xur, you’ll first need to spend a bit of time finding where Xur has spawned. Because Xur spawns at a random location every week, it can eat up quite a bit of time running through all of his potential spawn locations in order to find him.

To help make things easier, we’ve put together a guide explaining where you can find Xur in Destiny 2, and all of the Exotic items he has available for purchase in Destiny 2 during the week of September 11, 2020!

In Destiny 2, Xur appears at a random location every Friday. Unlike other NPCs, Xur serves as the game’s Exotic goods vendor, selling Exotic weapons and armor. Before you can purchase Exotic items from Xur, you’ll first need to find him.

Running through all of the locations where Xur is known to spawn is one way to find him, but this can be somewhat time-consuming, especially if you’re new to Destiny 2. Other ways to find Xur include looking up Xur’s location online in guides like this one.

Note that if you search for Xur before his spawn time of 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST), you may miss Xur even if you’re at the correct location. We recommend waiting until the aforementioned time before you head out to meet with Xur. Once Xur appears in Destiny 2, he’ll stay put in the same spot until Tuesday selling a random Exotic weapon along with Exotic armor pieces.

If you want to buy something from Xur, you have until Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST) to do so. After Tuesday, you’ll need to wait until the following Friday to buy Exotic items from Xur again. During the week of September 11, Xur can be found at Winding Cove in Earth’s EDZ.

To reach Xur, spawn into Winding Cove, then head up the rocky cliff area and look for a downed Fallen ship. Nearby, standing on the cliff edge, you’ll spot Xur. If visual guides are easier to follow than written ones, we’ve also included a helpful video at the bottom of this article that’ll show you exactly where you need to go.

During the week of September 11 through September 15, you can visit Xur at the location outlined above. When you speak to Xur, you’ll be able to browse through his updated inventory of Exotic items. If you see something you like, you can purchase one or more of these Exotic items using Legendary Shards.

If you don’t see anything worth buying, rest assured that Xur’s inventory refreshes weekly. You can always hold on to your Legendary Shards and try again next week. In addition to Exotic armor for Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters, Xur sells one Exotic weapon each week along with a Fated Engram.

Wondering what Xur is selling this week and whether you should pay him a visit? Below, we’ve put together a list of all Exotics sold by Xur from September 11 through September 15 in Destiny 2!

  • The Prospector (Exotic Grenade Launcher) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Ophidia Spathe (Exotic Hunter Chest Armor) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Doom Fang Pauldron (Exotic Titan Gauntlets) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • The Stag (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards

During the week of September 11 through September 15 in Destiny 2, you can purchase an Exotic Grenade Launcher from Xur called The Prospector. It’s priced at 29 Legendary Shards. The Prospector can feel like a niche weapon for grenade launcher enthusiasts as you really need to know how to utilize this weapon in order for it to be anywhere close to effective.

For most players, it’s simply not worth it. In Destiny 2, there are much better grenade launcher options like The Mountaintop or the Wendigo GL3. Outside of The Prospector, Xur has a few slick pieces of Exotic armor available for purchase. The item with the highest overall roll is The Stag, an Exotic helmet for Warlocks. It’s an item that looks quite cool, we’ll give it that.

Unfortunately, it’s far from the best helmet option for Warlocks. The Doom Fang Pauldron gauntlets for Titans have some beefy Strength and Recovery stats, making them arguably one of the best items available for purchase from Xur this week.

The Ophidia Spathe isn’t all that impressive either, it’s kind of like The Prospector in that it’s only useful in certain situations and even then, there are so many better options out there. All of the Exotics available for purchase this week are dependent on your personal preferences and how you play Destiny 2.

You may find an item like The Prospector useful to you, while others do not. If you don’t see anything you want to buy this week, again, you can save your Legendary Shards and check back in with Xur next week to see if he has something better.

In the meantime, what are your thoughts on Xur’s inventory this week? Are you planning to buy anything like The Prospector or the Doom Fang Pauldron gauntlets? Are you disappointed at the items on offer this week? Comment below!

To see exactly where Xur is located this week and the stats for each Exotic armor piece, we’ve included a helpful video from Destiny 2 YouTuber Esoterickk.
