Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 - August 28, 2020

The location of Xur and all of the Exotics he has available for purchase this week in Destiny 2.

It’s everyone’s favorite day of the week… Xur Day! If you’re new to Destiny 2 and are wondering who Xur is and what he does in Destiny 2, Xur is an Exotic goods vendor who appears at a random location every week starting on Friday. By visiting Xur, you can purchase Exotic armor pieces for your Titan, Hunter, or Warlock, as well as an Exotic weapon.

Before you can look at the fresh batch of Exotics that Xur has available for purchase, you’ll first need to overcome a few obstacles. Namely, finding Xur’s current location. Because Xur spawns at a random location every week, it can be a pain to run through all of his potential spawn areas in order to find him.

To make things easier, we’ve put together a guide explaining where you can find Xur in Destiny 2, and all of the Exotic items he has available for purchase in Destiny 2 during the week of August 28, 2020!

Every week starting on Friday, Xur appears at a random location in Destiny 2. Acting as an NPC, Xur is the game’s Exotic goods vendor. Before you can purchase Exotic items from Xur, you’ll first need to find him. Running through all of the locations where Xur is known to spawn is one way to find him, but this can be a bit tedious, especially if you’re new to Destiny 2.

To save time, you can look up Xur’s location online in guides like this one. Note that if you search for Xur before his spawn time of 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST), you may miss Xur even if you’re at the correct location. We recommend waiting until the aforementioned time before you head out to meet with Xur.

Once Xur appears in Destiny 2, he’ll stay put in the same spot until Tuesday selling a random Exotic weapon along with Exotic armor pieces. If you want to buy something from Xur, you have until Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST) to do so. After Tuesday, you’ll need to wait until the following Friday to buy Exotic items from Xur again.

During the week of August 28, Xur can be found on Titan inside The Rig area. To reach Xur, you’ll first need to spawn in on Titan, then make your way towards the Landing Zone of The Rig. Near the edge of the platform is a square building that you can enter. Inside this building, you’ll find Xur hanging out near a wall.

If a visual guide is easier to follow, we’ve embedded a video at the bottom of this article that’ll show you exactly where you need to go to find Xur this week.

During the week of August 28 through September 1, you can visit Xur at the location detailed above. When you speak to Xur, you’ll be able to browse through his updated inventory of Exotic items. If you see something you like, you can purchase one or more of the Exotic items that Xur is selling using Legendary Shards.

Xur’s inventory refreshes each week, so if you don’t see anything worth buying you can hang on to your Legendary Shards and try again the following week. In addition to Exotic armor for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans, you can purchase one Exotic weapon from Xur each week along with a Fated Engram.

Wondering what Xur is selling this week and whether you should pay him a visit? Below, we’ve put together a list of all Exotics sold by Xur from August 28 through September 1 in Destiny 2!

  • Sunshot (Exotic Hand Cannon) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Gwisin Vest (Exotic Hunter Chest) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Actium War Rig (Exotic Titan Chest) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Contraverse Hold (Exotic Warlock Gauntlets) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards

During the week of August 28 through September 1 in Destiny 2, you can purchase a Sunshot Exotic Hand Cannon from Xur for 29 Legendary Shards. The Sunshot is more of a PvE than a PvP weapon. Some Destiny 2 players say it’s underrated, while others feel it’s a little lackluster. It really depends on the player and the way they use the Sunshot.

In addition to the Sunshot, Xur has some noteworthy armor pieces on offer this week including the Actium War Rig for Titans and the Contraverse Hold gauntlets for Warlocks. The Actium War Rig has the highest roll this week, making it a worthwhile grab for those who don’t already own one.

The Contraverse Hold is at the other end of the spectrum, the lowest roll even below the Gwisin Vest. Even so, it’s not an item that pops up often in Xur’s inventory. In fact, the last time we recall seeing the Contraverse Hold gauntlets was back on April 3 of this year and they had a much, much lower roll of 48 as opposed to this week’s 61.

With that in mind, it’s definitely worth grabbing a pair if you don’t own a set already. Continuing that thought, if you already own all of the Exotics that Xur has up for sale, or if you’re uninterested in all of them, you can hold on to your Legendary Shards and check back in with Xur next week. Until then, what are your thoughts on Xur’s inventory this week?

Are you planning to grab a Sunshot for some PvE action? Are you going to snatch up a pair of Contraverse Hold gauntlets for your Warlock? Let us know down in the comments below!
