Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 - August 21, 2020

The location where you can find Xur and a full rundown of the Exotic items he has available for purchase this week in Destiny 2.

It’s that time of the week again… Xur Day! If you’re new to Destiny 2 and are wondering who Xur is and what he does in Destiny 2, Xur is an Exotic goods vendor who appears at a random location every week starting on Friday. When you visit Xur, you can purchase Exotic armor pieces for your Hunter, Titan, or Warlock, as well as an Exotic weapon.

Before you can inspect the Exotics that Xur has available for purchase, you’ll first need to overcome a few obstacles. Namely, finding Xur’s current location. Because Xur spawns at a random location every week, it can be a pain to run through all of his potential spawn areas in order to find him.

To make things easier, we’ve put together a guide explaining where you can find Xur in Destiny 2, and all of the Exotic items he has available for purchase in Destiny 2 during the week of August 21, 2020!

Xur appears at a random location in Destiny 2 each and every Friday. Unlike other NPCs, Xur serves as the game’s Exotic goods vendor. Of course, before you can purchase Exotic items from Xur, you’ll first need to find him. Visiting all of the locations that Xur is known to spawn is one way to find him, but this can be a bit tedious, especially if you’re new to Destiny 2.

To save time, you can look up Xur’s location online in guides like this one. Note that if you search for Xur before his spawn time of 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST), you may miss Xur even if you’re at the correct location. We recommend waiting until the aforementioned time before you head out to meet with Xur.

Once Xur appears in Destiny 2, he’ll stay put in the same spot until Tuesday selling a random Exotic weapon along with Exotic armor pieces. If you want to buy something from Xur, you have until Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST) to do so. After Tuesday, you’ll need to wait until the following Friday to buy Exotic items from Xur again.

During the week of August 21, Xur can be found on Earth’s EDZ in the Winding Cove area. To reach Xur, you’ll first need to spawn into the Winding Cove area, then hop on your Sparrow and head north towards a rocky cliff area. In this area, you’ll need to climb up the cliffside to reach an area with a downed Fallen ship.

Near this downed Fallen ship, you should be able to spot Xur hanging out by the edge of the cliff near some trees.

If having a visual guide is a bit more helpful, we’ve included a video at the bottom of this article that’ll show you exactly where you need to go to find Xur.

During the week of August 21 through August 25, you can visit Xur at the location detailed above. When you speak to Xur, you’ll be able to browse through his updated inventory of Exotic items. If you find something you like, you can purchase one or more of these Exotic items using Legendary Shards.

Xur’s inventory refreshes every week, so if you don’t see anything worth buying, feel free to hang on to your Legendary Shards and try again next week. In addition to Exotic armor for Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters, you can purchase one Exotic weapon from Xur each week along with a Fated Engram.

Wondering what Xur is selling this week and whether you should pay him a visit? Below, we’ve put together a list of all Exotics sold by Xur from August 21 through August 25 in Destiny 2!

  • Lord of Wolves (Exotic Shotgun) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Young Ahamkara’s Spine (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Eternal Warrior (Exotic Titan Helmet) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Astrocyte Verse (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Exotic Engram - 97 Legendary Shards

During the week of August 21 through August 25 in Destiny 2, you can purchase a Lord of Wolves Exotic Shotgun from Xur for a total of 29 Legendary Shards. As far as shotguns go, the Lord of Wolves isn’t bad. It’s worth a purchase if you don’t already own one.

On the Lord of Wolves available from Xur, you’ll see that it has Shrapnel Launcher which lets you use a powerful short-range Solar burst. It also has Release the Wolves which alters the shotgun’s burst fire from five shots up to 10, and increases the damage of each shot. In addition to the Lord of Wolves, Xur also has an Eternal Warrior helmet for Titans and an Astrocyte Verse for Warlocks.

The highlight of Xur’s inventory this week, outside of the Lord of Wolves, is the Astrocyte Verse. We haven’t seen it pop up in Xur’s inventory for a while, and it’s one of the most visually striking Warlock helmets. At least in our opinion. The roll for this week’s Astrocyte Verse may not be overwhelmingly impressive, but if you don’t own one yet and like the look of it, it can definitely be worth buying.

If you already own everything in Xur’s inventory, you can hold on to your Legendary Shards and check back next week to see if he has something you don’t have. Until then, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on Xur’s inventory this week. Are you planning to pick up a Lord of Wolves Exotic Shotgun? What about an Astrocyte Verse for your Warlock? Let us know down in the comments below!
