The recent Sea of Thieves beta had quite a few sailors checking out Rare’s new pirate sandbox, and left some dataminers with a thirst for more.
Digging into the beta’s code, one reddit user has found a whole slew of new monsters and other goodies that will appear in the full game when it releases March 20.
Among the hidden beasties are the Kraken, a giant mythical squid from the deep, as well as mermaids and “skellies”. Whether that’s ghost pirate skeletons or a dyslexic version of the mythical seal people, selkies, we’ll have to wait and see.
There’s also a ton of boat parts, suggesting some form of boat customisation in the full game as well as pigs, seagulls, parrots, sharks, snakes and of course, rum.
