A new Maximus Cup event is live right now in Tetris 99, bringing with it the introduction of a brand new Paper Mario theme. During the event, everyone will be able to play Tetris 99 with this theme and get a feel for its adorable visuals and peppy soundtrack. If you earn enough points, you’ll be able to keep this theme forever!

Starting today, July 31, and running until August 3, Tetris 99 players will be able to enjoy the 15th Maximus Cup event. With this Maximus Cup event, players have the opportunity to earn a free Paper Mario theme. To do this, all they have to do is earn at least 100 event points before the Maximus Cup comes to an end on August 3.
Earning points is pretty straightforward in that the higher you rank each match, the more points you’ll earn. If you’re especially skilled at Tetris 99, you can earn the Paper Mario theme in one go by snagging 1st place as this awards the full 100 points.
If you’re new to Tetris 99, you can still get the Paper Mario theme as you’ll earn points by ranking 80th and above.
It may take a bit longer, but the theme is so cheerful and fun that the process of grinding out 100 points won’t feel like too much of a hassle. Again, if you love Paper Mario or simply want to collect a new theme in Tetris 99 for free, all you need to do is participate in the 15th Maximus Cup event while it’s live.
The Maximus Cup will run from July 31 until August 3 at which point it’ll end at 11:59 p.m. (PT). To get the Paper Mario theme for free, all you need to do is play the game and rank above 80th to earn points. If you earn 100 points before the 15th Maximus Cup comes to an end, the Paper Mario theme will be yours to keep forever!
