Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 - July 31, 2020

Showing you where Xur is this week and what Exotic items he has available for purchase in Destiny 2.

Guess what? It’s Xur Day! If you’re new to Destiny 2 and are wondering who Xur is and what he does in Destiny 2, Xur is an Exotic goods vendor who appears at a random location every week starting on Friday. Some of the Exotics you can buy from him include armor for your Hunter, Titan, or Warlock, and an Exotic weapon.

Before you can browse and purchase Exotics from Xur, you’ll need to overcome a few obstacles. Namely, finding Xur’s location. Because Xur spawns at a random location every week, it can be a pain to cycle between all of his potential spawn areas in order to find him.

To make things easier, we’ve put together a guide explaining where you can find Xur in Destiny 2, and all of the Exotic items he has available for purchase in Destiny 2 during the week of July 31, 2020!

Xur appears at a random location in Destiny 2 every week starting on Friday. Unlike other NPCs, Xur acts as the game’s friendly neighborhood Exotic goods vendor. Before you can purchase Exotic items from Xur, you’ll first need to find him.

Visiting all of the locations that Xur is known to spawn is one way to find him, but this can be extremely tedious, especially if you’re new to Destiny 2.

To save time, you can look up Xur’s location online in guides like this one! Note that if you search for Xur before his spawn time of 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST), you may miss Xur even if you’re at the correct location. We recommend waiting until the aforementioned time before you head out to meet with Xur.

Once Xur appears in Destiny 2, he’ll stay in the same spot for a few days selling a random Exotic weapon along with Exotic armor pieces. If you want to buy something from Xur, you have until Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST) to do so. After Tuesday, you’ll need to wait until the following Friday to buy Exotic items from Xur again.

During the week of July 31, Xur can be found over on the Earth’s EDZ in Winding Cove. To reach Xur, first spawn into the Winding Cove area, then head north towards a rocky cliff area. Travel up a small path and keep heading back until you spot a Fallen ship. Near the trees, you’ll see Xur hanging out, soaking in the scenery.

If you’re a visual learner and want to see exactly what the area where Xur is looks like, we’ve included a helpful video at the bottom of this guide that’ll show you exactly where to go!

During the week of July 31 through August 4, you can visit Xur at the location outlined above. When you speak to Xur, you can browse through his updated inventory of Exotic items. If you spot something you like, you can purchase one or more of these Exotic items using Legendary Shards.

What’s nice is that Xur’s inventory refreshes every week, meaning if you don’t see anything worth buying, you can hang on to your Legendary Shards and try again next week. In addition to Exotic armor for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks, you can purchase one Exotic weapon from Xur each week along with a Fated Engram.

Wondering what Xur is selling this week and whether you should pay him a visit? Below, we’ve put together a list of all Exotics sold by Xur from July 31 through August 4 in Destiny 2!

  • Telesto (Exotic Fusion Rifle) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Aeon Swift (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Lion Rampant (Exotic Titan Leg Armor) - 23 Legendary Shards
  • Ophidian Aspect (Exotic Warlock Gauntlets) - 23 Legenary Shards
  • Exotic Engram - 97 Legendary Shards

During the week of July 31 through August 4 in Destiny 2, you can purchase a Telesto Exotic Fusion Rifle from Xur for a total of 29 Legendary Shards. As far as fusion rifles go, the Telesto is one of the most popular in Destiny 2.

It has been for quite a while in Destiny 2, though if you’re new to the game and don’t already own one yet, it’s well worth scooping up.

It comes with the Intrinsic Perk, Unplanned Reprive, which makes it so that your fusion projectiles attach to the enemy and then detonate via a delayed Void blast. The one on offer from Xur this week also comes with Harbinger’s Pulse which lets you instantly reload your Energy and Kinetic weapons from the reserves when you score multikills with the Telesto.

As noted above, the Telesto is extremely popular, so many Destiny 2 players may already own one. If you recently started playing the game and you don’t have a Telesto yet, it’s a worthwhile weapon to have in your arsenal. In terms of Exotic armor, Hunter users will be disappointed to see the Aeon Swift in Xur’s inventory.

Meanwhile, the Lion Rampant and Ophidian Aspect aren’t all that exciting either. Overall, the most worthwhile item in Xur’s inventory this week by far is the Telesto. Outside of the Telesto, you should probably hang on to your Legendary Shards and check back in with Xur next week to see if he has better Exotic armor pieces available.

Until then, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on Xur’s inventory this week. Are you excited to get your hands on a Telesto? Are you disappointed at the Exotic armor offerings? Let us know down in the comments below!
