A samurai has many duties, and according to Ghost of Tsushima’s side missions, most involve helping out your friends. Ghost of Tsushima side missions are known as Tales of Tsushima, and you’ll encounter a range of allies who need your assistance over the course of several missions. There are a total of 61 side missions in Ghost of Tsushima, which appear as silver icons on the map. Spread across the island, these Tales of Tsushima range from helping an ally find a missing student, to investigating spooky woodlands at night following claims of dangerous spirits. Completing them all will earn the Helping Sword Hand trophy. They’re some of the best parts of the game, so we recommend getting involved with them whenever you can. Below, we’ve broken down how many side quests each of your allies have to their name, as well as the number of other Tales you’ll find in each region.
Allies
- Lady Masako: 8 side missions (+1 main story mission)
- Sensei Ishikawa: 8 side missions (+1 main story mission)
- Yuna: 4 side missions
- Kenji: 3 side missions
- Norio: 9 side missions
- Yuriko: 2 side missions
Regions
- Izuhara Region: 14 side missions
- Toyotama Region: 9 side missions
- Kamigata region: 4 side missions
Most of the world-based side missions take place in the Izuhara region, while character missions are more heavily centered in the Toyotama region. It’s also worth noting that Ghost of Tsushima includes seven Mythic Tales which could easily be considered side missions as well. These unlock powerful armor, weaponry, and attacks for Jin to use, and are always worth completing. In addition to that, there are hot springs, bamboo strikes, shrines and more which can be found and used throughout the world. In short, there's a lot to keep you busy on the island of Tsushima.
