It’s Xur Day once more in Destiny 2! Unfamiliar with who Xur is and what his purpose is in Destiny 2? Every week, Xur appears at a random location in Destiny 2. By interacting with Xur, you can browse and purchase Exotic items like armor for your Hunter, Titan, or Warlock.
Before you can shop to your heart’s content, there are a few challenges you’ll need to overcome including tracking down Xur’s location. Because Xur spawns at a random location each week, it can be hard to find him without either sinking in a lot of time, or having a little help in the form of a guide.
To make things easier for you, we’ve put together a guide explaining where you can find Xur in Destiny 2 and all of the Exotic items he has up for sale during the week of July 17, 2020!
Where to find Xur in Destiny 2 - July 17, 2020

Xur appears at a random location in Destiny 2 every Friday and serves as the game’s friendly neighborhood Exotic goods vendor. Before you can purchase items from Xur, you’ll first need to find him. You can always do this by running through all of the locations where Xur is known to spawn, but doing this can be really time-consuming, especially if you’re new to Destiny 2.
To save time, you can also look up Xur’s location online in guides like this one! Note that if you search for Xur before his spawn time of 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST), you may miss Xur even if you’re at the correct location. We recommend waiting until the aforementioned time before you head out to meet with Xur.
Once Xur appears in Destiny 2, he’ll stay in the same spot for a few days selling a random Exotic weapon along with Exotic armor pieces. If you want to buy something from Xur, you have until Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (PST), 1:00 p.m. (EST), and 6:00 p.m. (BST) to do so. After Tuesday, you’ll need to wait until the following Friday to buy Exotic items from Xur again.
During the week of July 17, Xur can be found inside the Hangar area of the Tower. To reach Xur, make your way to the Tower, then run over to the Hangar. Once you’re in the Hangar, head to the back past the Dead Orbit vendor. Nearby, you’ll spot a flight of stairs heading up and to the left. Near the first flight of stairs, you should have no trouble spotting Xur.

During the week of July 17 through July 21, you can visit Xur at the location outlined above. In speaking with Xur, you’ll be able to browse through his updated inventory of Exotic items. If you see something you like, you can purchase one or more of these items using Legendary Shards. If you don’t see anything worth buying don’t worry, Xur’s inventory refreshes every week.
You can always save your Legendary Shards and visit Xur the following week to see if he has something better! In addition to Exotic armor for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans, you can purchase one Exotic weapon from Xur each week along with a Fated Engram. - Skyburner’s Oath (Exotic Scout Rifle) - 29 Legendary Shards

During the week of July 17 through July 21 in Destiny 2, you can purchase a Skyburner’s Oath Exotic Scout Rifle from Xur. In terms of weapons, it’s not the most exciting offering we’ve seen from Xur. We don’t think it’s the worst weapon of its class in Destiny 2 like other players do, but it’s definitely not the best either.
Our recommendation is holding on to your 29 Legendary Shards unless the Skyburner’s Oath really speaks to you on a spiritual level. Looking at the Exotic armor on offer, the Vesper of Radius has some pretty nice stats and it’s not a bad looking chest piece. If you’ve yet to properly outfit your Warlock, the Vesper of Radius may be something you’re interested in buying.
The Peacekeepers for Titans aren’t terrible either, but we’ve also seen better from Xur when it comes to Exotic Titan leg armor. For example, Xur had some Dunemarchers available just last week. Ultimately the choice is up to you in regards to what you buy or don’t buy. Personally, we feel the Vesper of Radius is the most worthwhile purchase of the items on offer from Xur this week.
Keep in mind, if you don’t find anything in Xur’s inventory that catches your eye this week, you’re free to save your Legendary Shards and visit Xur the following week to see if he has something better.
