To dye your clothes in Ghost of Tsushima, you first need to purchase dyes from merchants around the map. They won’t just hand them over for nothing, though. Each dye costs 10 flowers to buy, requiring you to explore the island and collect them.

Flowers are easily spotted for their brightly colored flowers, poking up with green stems. You’ll find them dotted all over the map, usually in corners just out of site. It’s also possible to set the wind to guide you specifically towards them. Stand close and you’ll be able to pick them up by pressing R2. Once you have enough flowers, visit a merchant and purchase the dye color you’re after.

Got a color your like? You can dye clothes in Ghost of Tsushima by opening up the Gear menu (hit the options button and then tap L1 or R1 to swap to Gear). Choose the clothing you want to customize, hit X to open customization option and you’ll find the D-Pad allows you to cycle through the different dye colors you’ve unlocked. They're shown in the bottom right of the screen, and can be quite easy to miss.

Merchants won’t have access to all the dye colors from the start of the game. As you make your way through the core story you’ll unlock new colors for the merchants to sell. Different merchants also have different colors, so check in with each one you find to see what they sell. Be sure to check back with them regularly to grab more customization options, and don’t forget to collect those flowers while you’re out and about!.
