To clean your sword in Ghost of Tsushima, you need to swipe right on the PS4 controller’s touchpad. That's the responsive, central part of the controller, in case you're not used to using it. This will make Jin perform a special and undeniably cool animation to clean his blade. As well as being fun to watch, this is a great opportunity to try out the game’s highly impressive photo mode. Find a spot with some impressive lighting and pull off your best poses as you return your blade to pristine condition!
The act of flicking your sword to remove blood is known as chiburui, and comes from the Japanese martial art of Iado. Jin will clean his sword before putting it away. If you leave it long enough after a fight, Jin will put his sword away automatically, but this is a pretty cool way to do it manually instead.
