Far Cry 6 throws you into a revolution against Giancarlo Esposito

Far Cry 6 officially revealed with the first look at its setting in a Cuban-inspired dictatorship starring Giancarlo Esposito.

The first trailer for Far Cry 6 was revealed on Ubisoft Forward, confirming the starring role of Breaking Bad baddie Giancarlo Esposito, with a chilling performance.

The next game in the franchise entirely about liberating aread from the control of a madman has you liberating a Cuban-inspired dictatorship from the control of its psychopathic dictator.

Far Cry 6 is scheduled for release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Stadia and PC via Uplay and Epic Games Store on February 18, 2021.

Confirmed in the official reveal (though it has been leaked and rumored throughout the last week) is the starring role of Giancarlo Esposito, known for his intense acting in The Mandalorian and Breaking Bad, as the game's antagonist Antón Castillo.

Castillo is the dictator of the island of Yara, a country with heavy Cuban influences, including stylish Cadillac cars from before the US trade embargo halted exports to the Caribbean island nation. This unique economic situation means the timeline of the game is ambiguous, as the architecture and vehicles could be from any time in the past 60 years.

Also confirmed to be starring in Far Cry 6 is Anthony Gonzalez, the voice of Miguel in Pixar's film Coco, who plays Diego the son of Castillo whom is being prepared to take over from his father in the family business of 'being an evil dictator'. Not sure about his parenting techniques above, but there's a small interview with Esposito about taking on his maniacal role below.

You can also watch the title sequence of Far Cry 6 below, which features a James Bond-style artistic cinematic rundown of what to expect in the game. Plenty of references to 50's-era cars, drug-farming, gold-hoarding and Latin American locales point to the themes of this entry in the series centered around the Cuban-inspired dictatorship.

What did you think of the Far Cry 6 reveal trailers? Are you itching to get back into a fight against authoritarian fascists attempting to quell a surging popular uprising?
