The quick answer to the question of whether you can skip cutscenes in The Last of Us Part 2 is yes, you can. So, how do you skip them? Well, all you need to do during a cutscene is press Options and select the option to ‘Skip Cinematic’ and you’re all set.

You can skip any cutscene you like by using that method, though obviously skipping cutscenes isn’t recommended as you run the risk of missing out on key points in the story that you may need to know later on.

The great thing about the option to skip cutscenes is having it available during a scene that may be a little overwhelming. The Last of Us Part 2 is a dark, violent game and we don’t blame certain gamers for feeling a bit squeamish during some of the cutscenes.

With that thought in mind, it’s useful to be able to skip cutscenes and avoid having to sit through them with averted eyes. You can likewise skip past dialogue if you find it’s dragging on a little too long using the same method as skipping past cutscenes.

Options, Skip Cinematic, and continue along on your way.

To recap, you can skip cutscenes in The Last of Us Part 2 but it’s not recommended, especially during your first playthrough. You can also skip past and speed up dialogue the same way you skip past cutscenes in The Last of Us Part 2.
