If you’re wondering how to save your game in The Last of Us Part 2, you have two options available to you. First, The Last of Us Part 2 uses an internal auto-save feature to keep track of your progress automatically. With the auto-save feature in place, you won’t have to worry about forgetting to save and losing all of your progress if something happens like a power outage.

If you aren’t a fan of relying on auto-save mechanics, the good news is that The Last of Us Part 2 also includes a manual save option. To manually save, all you need to do is hit the Options button, open the menu, and then select Save and choose a save slot to keep all your progress stored safely.

Another convenient aspect to saving in The Last of Us Part 2 is the fact that you’re given multiple save slots. How many save slots? Well, in addition to the game’s auto-save that it tracks for you, you’re given 20 manual save slots to use however you like. In the event that you need to make room, you’re free to overwrite those save slots as needed.

The Last of Us 2 has been commended for its accessibility and the wealth of options it offers to gamers, and its generous save opportunities are one example of this. For us personally, we’re always anxious relying on auto-save mechanics on their own and like the feeling of manually saving our progress and seeing that progress stored properly in its own save slot.

The Last of Us 2 gives us the ability to manual save while also tracking everything via auto-save, and on top of all of that, provides 20 different save slots to use as needed. It’s fantastic! To recap, you can manually save by pressing Options then selecting Save and assigning that save to one of your save slots.
