Hyper Light Drifter devs bring Solar Ash to PS5 in 2021

Solar Ash skates its way onto PS5 sometime next year.

Solar Ash, a new game from Hyper Light Drifter developers Heart Machine, is coming to PlayStation 5 sometime in 2021.

The game moves on from HLD's 2D perspective to offer a 3D exploration of a brightly colored world, including skating and walljumping across gaps.

Indie arthouse publishers Annapurna Interactive will be bringing Solar Ash to PS5 and PC next year. The game's official introduction trailer description reads: "Journey through a surreal, vivid and highly stylized world filled with mystery, wild high-speed traversal, endearing characters, and massive enemy encounters. The Void beckons…"

It's too early to tell, but our keen ears detect some hint of the same fuzzy synth vibes from the soundtrack of Solar Ash as those of Hyper Light Drifter and Fez, suggesting Disasterpeace may have a hand in this one as well. We very much hope so, every score of his is incredible.

If you're interested in the stylish gameplay of Solar Ash, follow Heart Machine on Twitter for more information in the coming months. Solar Ash will release on PS5 and PC at some point in 2021.
