Every couple of weeks, the Epic Games Store offers a fresh batch of games that can be added to your library for free. Starting today, you can grab two new free games, each one wildly different from the other. Of the two, the biggest surprise is Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection.

The Epic Games Store is giving away free copies of Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection and ARK: Survival Evolved starting today, June 11. The games will be available for free until June 18, at which time this week’s collection of free games will be replaced by free copies of Pathway and The Escapists 2.
Taking a look at this week’s free games, we were immediately pulled towards Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection which includes six NEOGEO titles and a previously unreleased mystery title. Inside the NEOGEO Collection for Samurai Shodown, you’ll find the following games:
- Samurai Shodown (1993)
- Samurai Shodown II (1994)
- Samurai Shodown III (1995)
- Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge (1996)
- Samurai Shodown V (2003)
- Samurai Shodown V Special (2004)
- Samurai Shodown V Perfect (previously unreleased)
If you’re a Samurai Shodown fan, or someone looking for a little nostalgia, the collection is a must-have. Even better, you can get it for free until June 18 so if you were on the fence about the collection given its original $39.99 price tag, now’s the time to strike.
In addition to Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection, you can also get a free copy of ARK: Survival Evolved on the Epic Games Store. As its name suggests, it’s a survival game where you have to farm and collect resources. Oh, and there are dinosaurs as well.
The inclusion of dinosaurs gives the game a Jurassic Park feel, though there’s a lot more to ARK than dinosaurs alone. Normally, the base game costs $49.99 but right now, you can get ARK for free and even if you’re unsure whether you’ll like the game… it’s free.
Once you add a free game to your library on the Epic Games Store, it’s yours to keep forever. If you’re hungry for more free games, the Epic Games Store is offering free copies of Sludge Life from now until May of next year.
You have a little more time with Sludge Life than you do Epic’s weekly rotation of free time, but it’s still worth grabbing right now so you can start playing it.
Overall, this week’s rotation of free games is noteworthy, especially with a $49.99 game like ARK and a nostalgic bundle like Samurai Shodown NEOGEO Collection. Don’t forget, on June 18 the rotation will change with The Escapists 2 and Pathway available for free.
