Valorant could well get a console release, though Riot Games isn't ready to commit to anything just yet.
Thanks to its complex recoil mechanics and demand for high-precision, Valorant has been designed from the ground up for PC. Throughout its closed beta, Riot said they were focussing solely on folks with a mouse and keyboard, ensuring that the game performed well and was balanced properly. With the full release now out in the wild, however, the studio is ruling out the possibility of a console version down the line.
Speaking with GameSpot, Valorant executive producer Anna Donlon said that the team was “definitely prototyping” Valorant on other platforms. Given it’s unlikely it’ll be coming to mobile devices any time soon (read: never) then the PS4 and Xbox One or next gen console are the obvious other testbeds.

However, those hoping for a swift console port shouldn’t get their hopes up. There’s no guarantee Valorant will ever get a console release if Riot Games aren’t happy with the way it performs.
“There's a way to play this game and there's a way to experience this game that we're not entirely sure translates completely to console play," Donlon told GameSpot.
Essentially, that means Riot Games are in the very early stages of seeing if Valorant could ever be adapted to consoles, rather than working directly on a port. Valorant offers a highly competitive experience built from the lessons of other PC titles such Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Without major reworking to the game’s core mechanics, it may not make for an enjoyable experience on consoles.
"If we feel like we can deliver this experience on those platforms, we absolutely will," Donlon added. "But we really want Valorant to stand for a certain type of gameplay and a certain type of experience."
