To catch a Giant Snakehead, you need to be fishing between 9am - 4pm in the months of June to August for the northern hemisphere (December to February for southern hemisphere). That’s quite a tight timeframe for most of us that work during the day, so if you can’t find a break then weekends will be your go to fishing time.

Giant Snakeheads only appear in ponds, and they have a large shadow (similar to a carp). They’re worth a tidy sum of 5.5k bells, but we’ve found them relatively easy to catch. Keep checking your ponds and look for some large shadows within. Catch any you see, or craft an extra supply of Fish Bait — click here to find out how to do that — and spend some time by the pond. If you’re as lucky as us, it won’t take long for you to pick up a Giant Snakehead.
