  • The Saddled Bichir sells for 4,000 Bells.

A lot of new fish were added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons including the Saddled Bichir. As of June 1, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players in the Northern Hemisphere have the ability to catch the Saddled Bichir. The Saddled Bichir is only available from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. and can be found in river areas.

The Saddled Bichir has a medium to large fish shadow, though keep in mind that this “large” shadow is slightly smaller than the one for other recently added river fish like the Arapaima. If you see a really, really large fish shadow, that one may be an Arapaima not a Saddled Bichir.

Because the Saddled Bichir is on the uncommon side so it may take you a few tries to catch one as other common fish have a large fish shadow like the Black Bass. If you’re having a hard time getting fish to spawn in your river, you can try and use Fish Bait to lure them out. You can also go on a Mystery Island tour as you have the potential to land on a fish island.

We caught several new fish on a fish island last night with a spiral river in the center including the Great White Shark and Arowana. Keep fishing and remain patient and eventually, you should be able to catch yourself a Saddled Bichir. After you give the first Saddled Bichir to Blathers, you can sell extras for 4,000 Bells each.

Again, the Saddled Bichir can be found in river areas from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. in the Northern Hemisphere of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
