Fortnite players who’ve enjoyed Season 2 of Chapter 2 have been wondering when the start date of Chapter 2 - Season 3 is. Epic extended Season 2 for a week to prep for Season 3, so the previous expected date is no longer accurate. To give you the correct date, here’s a look at the start date of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3!
Update: Fortnite Season 3 and The Device live event have been delayed by Epic Games in response to the ongoing protests over the murder of George Floyd. The Device is now scheduled for June 15 while Fortnite Season 3 will launch on June 17.
When is the start date of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3?
The start date of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 is Thursday, June 11 according to a post from Epic Games. The post goes on to tease a one-time only event, The Device, that’ll go live before the Season 3 start date.
“In an effort to get everything ready for Chapter 2 - Season 3, we’re extending Season 2 by one week. The new launch day of Season 3 will be Thursday, June 11. Also make sure to check out a one-time-only live event called The Device, now scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 2 p.m. ET (please show up 30 minutes early to help secure your spot, space is limited!).”
The event may offer a preview of Season 3, and may be connected to the Doomsday countdown if you think about The Device, explosions, things like that. We’re not certain, but we do know we’ll be checking the event out to see what this mysterious ‘Device’ is all about.
Meanwhile, with the delay of Season 3 comes extra time to complete your Season 2 Battle Pass Challenges if you haven’t done so already. You also have more time to complete the Storm The Agency Challenges.
By completing Challenges like Storm The Agency, you can earn some cool gear including the Shadow Stalker Glider, Shadow Seal Wrap, and Steel Shadow Pickaxe.
If you’re a fan of freebies, a free Loading Screen of The Agency can be found in the Item Shop for a limited time. Once Season 3 starts, we imagine items like The Agency loading screen and Renegade Shadow outfit will be swapped with new gear.
Again, Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 11. If you want a little preview, it sounds like you should set aside some time on Saturday, June 6 to check out the live event, The Device. You should also finish up any of your Season 2 Battle Pass Challenges if you have any you’ve been holding off on.Load Comments
