Get a free copy of Civilization 6 on the Epic Games Store

A massive game for the low, low price of free.

The Epic Games Store continues to offer free games as an incentive to get people onto the platform. Previously, Epic had a free copy of GTA V up for grabs and the response was so strong it briefly knocked out the store. While Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 won’t cause a similar stampede of eager gamers, it’s nevertheless an amazing title to be able to get for free.

Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 is free right now on the Epic Games Store for a limited time (until May 28). The offer comes as part of Epic’s effort to attract gamers to the store. What better way than free games?

Note that you first need to have an Epic Games Store account to add free games like Civilization 6 to your library. Once the game is sitting comfortably in your library, it’s yours to keep forever. No strings attached.

Given the massive size and scale of Civilization 6, having it on offer for free is a ridiculously good deal. Prior to Civilization 6, Epic made the bold decision to give away a free copy of GTA V which attracted a lot of attention, even from gamers who hate the Epic Games Store and refuse to use it.

Essentially, the consensus was if Epic was just going to give GTA V away for free, people might as well take advantage of that offer. The same goes for Civilization 6.

If you’re a fan of turn-based strategy, you likely have some familiarity with the Sid Meier’s Civilization series and will be excited to get Civ 6 for free. If you’ve never played a Civilization game and are uncertain about whether you’d like Civ 6, you should get your free copy and give the game a try.

If it’s not for you, there’s no loss in uninstalling it and setting it to the side.

Again, Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 is available for free on the Epic Games Store from now until May 28. After May 28, a different game will be available for free, though Epic is keeping the identity of their upcoming games secret now so there’s no telling what the next game could be.
