We Happy Few delayed until summer

After improvements to early game structure.

Dystopian, fitting-in survival game, We Happy Few has been pushed from its April 13 release until “this summer.”

Compulsion Games announced the news in a production update on YouTube. In the video, Compulsion state that the team had reworked a large portion of the early game which they weren’t happy with, and while they believe the project has improved, they need more time to finalize everything.

The game is now content complete and the Early Access release (which is far from matching the final version of the game) will receive no more updates before the 1.0 launch.

With an increased price point arriving after partnership with Gearbox Studios, Compulsion believe that the game is no longer appropriate to be listed as an Early Access title. They are offering free refunds to buyers “past and present, regardless of playtime,” and will be disabling the option to prepurchase as of February 1st. Those who are content with their version can continue playing up to the official release.

The full title will be open to preorders closer to release in summer.
