Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will also be available on PS5

It's definitely not an Xbox exclusive, that's for sure.

Gamers had mixed feelings after tuning in to Microsoft’s latest Inside Xbox stream yesterday even though a few cool games were shown like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Along with a cool trailer, it was confirmed that the game would be releasing on Xbox Series X as well as Xbox One.

Today, additional information has come out that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will also release on PS5.

Despite its announcement and inclusion in yesterday’s Inside Xbox stream, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is far from an Xbox exclusive. Yes, the game will release on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X, but it’ll also release on PC. You can even pre-purchase the game on Steam right now.

The PC release isn’t entirely surprising as many Xbox games are made available for PC. However, some gamers may be disconcerted to hear that the game is also releasing to PS4 and PS5, it's not an Xbox exclusive.

The confirmation that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will release on PS5 came today in a trailer uploaded to YouTube by Paradox Interactive.

The trailer is the same one aired during the Inside Xbox stream, but includes a different end card that shows all of the platforms the game will be releasing to later this year. The original trailer shown by Xbox only shows ‘Xbox’ on the end card, whereas the trailer from Paradox Interactive features the full list of release platforms.

As noted above, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be available for purchase on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, PS4, and PS5. If you were hoping the game would be an exclusive launch title for the Xbox Series X, this new end card from Paradox Interactive doubles down on the fact that it’s not. Which is fine, honestly.

The game looks amazing and having it be released on several different platforms at once means that more gamers will be able to purchase and play it. It is a little strange to get this info only a day after the reveal trailer debuted during Microsoft’s latest Inside Xbox stream though.

Furthermore, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is not the only game shown that won’t be exclusive to Xbox as games like The Medium and The Ascent will be available on Steam, while Bandai has confirmed that Scarlet Nexus will also release on PS4 and PS5.

All of this adds to the critique of yesterday’s Inside Xbox in that while there were some cool games shown, it would have been nice to have a few more exclusive Xbox titles included along with actual gameplay for titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Setting that aside, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on the matter. Are you happy that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is releasing on PS4 and PS5 as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X? What about other games releasing to Steam as well like The Ascent? Let us know down in the comments below!
