The free games for PS Plus subscribers in May have been officially revealed in a new post on the PS Blog. Interestingly enough, both games are similar to one another in that they’re both management sims. One has you overseeing the growth of a city, while the other has you tending to crops on a farm.

The PS Plus games for May include Cities: Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 according to a post on the PS Blog. Both games will be available to download for free for PS Plus subscribers starting on May 5. The games will be available until June 1, giving you time to think about whether or not you want to download them.
The games on offer may strike certain gamers as disappointing following the PS Plus games for April which included the phenomenal Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. However, both games are highly rated, critically praised management sims. If management sims like RollerCoaster Tycoon, SimCity, or Stardew Valley, you’ll likely find Farming Simulator 19 and Cities: Skylines to be relaxing ways to pass the time.
For those unfamiliar with one or both games, the PS Blog offers a brief description for each title to help get you up to speed. Touching on what you can expect from Farming Simulator 19, the PS Plus blog notes:
“Developer GIANTS Software has packed in a wealth of agricultural pastimes to lose yourself in as you set out to maintain a homestead. Harvest crops, raise livestock, tackle forest, ride your own horses… or just jump behind the wheel of your John Deere tractor or one of over 300 authentic farming vehicles and go for a drive.”
Meanwhile, the PS Blog describes Cities: Skylines as follows:

You’ll need strategic smarts to keep your burgeoning ecosystem from collapse, ensuring your ever-growing populace stay happy and the industries that are the lifeblood of your expanding metropolis continue to thrive.”
The free PS Plus games on offer for May aren’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but we highly recommend keeping an open mind and giving them a chance.
