To keep track of your progress in Gears Tactics, you’ll need to learn how to save. Like most modern games, Gears Tactics utilizes an internal auto-save feature. Whenever you do things in the game like complete missions, hit checkpoints mid-mission, or finish a cutscene in the campaign, the game automatically auto-saves your progress up to that point.

While completing missions is a straightforward way to auto-save, you can also reach checkpoints during a mission which will allow you to step away from the game even if you’re unable to complete that particular mission. Note that if you’re unable to reach a checkpoint and your system cuts out, you’ll likely have to replay that mission from the very beginning.

With this in mind, it’s a good idea to finish a mission completely before exiting the game. If you don’t have the time to do this, hitting a checkpoint is another great way to trigger an auto-save. If you’re wondering why we haven’t mentioned a manual save option, that’s because Gears Tactics doesn’t have one.

Unfortunately, Gears Tactics only offers the aforementioned auto-save option to store your progress. The game’s auto-save works fairly well, but it can still cause a degree of anxiety for those who enjoy manually saving. Our advice is to do what’s listed above – either hit a checkpoint during a mission, or complete a mission entirely as this will cause the game to auto-save.

Now that you know how to save in Gears Tactics, we have a few other guides you may find helpful!
